Description:
Studieförbundet Bilda and Sensus Studieförbund invite you to an afternoon and evening filled with music in the city's coziest courtyard. There will be everything from trad jazz and indie pop to nosebleed techno and bluesy space kraut. There will be a large stage with music every hour on the hour, and a popup stage where music will appear now and then throughout the day. Some program events may be canceled in case of excessive rain. Brick tower stage 13:00 - Johan Dahlberg & Olyckskorparna Johan Dahlberg & Olyckskorparna move in the borderland between neofolk and rock. With fuzz guitars and 6/8 time, they deliver hope to the hopeless. It will be equal parts sublime and gritty. 14:00 - The Hot Six Quintet A quintet focusing on traditional jazz from the 20s, 30s, and 40s, perfect for dancing! The lineup consists of trumpet, saxophone, clarinet, vocals, bass, and guitar. Join us on a swinging journey to the first half of the 20th century! 15:00 - Hemvägen With lyrics about study stress, dorm parties, and failed dates, Hemvägen is the soundtrack to student life. Stylistically, the band floats somewhere between Håkan Hellström and Sonic Youth – rooted in indie dreams and a strong Uppsala identity. 16:00 - Sway Sessions Sway Sessions is a cover band that plays the best funk and soul music ever made. Their repertoire includes songs from Vulfpeck, Jackson Five, Jamiroquai, Kool & The Gang, and many more. With distorted guitars, beautiful melodies, and flashy drums, they create a sound that suits most ears. 20:00 - Great Cackler Few have heard Great Cackler's bluesy space kraut. Now they're crawling out of Uppsala's coziest basement hole to offer crow fuzz and EM pentatonic scales to no end. It's energetic and fun, messy and awkward, and at times, danceable! 21:00 - KIMÆRA KIMÆRA are four young people who play melodic indie rock with influences from metal, pop, and punk. The band formed in 2023 and has since released an EP called "Insecurity and Sound." 22:00 - Cave Art Critics Cave Art Critics is a rock band with influences from both Blur and IDLES. Uppsala's only statistically confirmed band. Pop-up stage 14:30 - Brass music The Salvation Army's brass band plays music that is only enhanced by the echo between the courtyard walls. 16:30 – Tzinnat For over a decade, Tzinnat, a 24-year-old artist, has been making his mark as a rapper, songwriter, and poet. 17:30 - Karam Garadat 18:30 - S4MU With roots in Swedish and Mexican music, S4MU delivers a blend of Spanish and Swedish lyrics. S4MU combines rhythms from reggaeton and afrobeat to create a sound that makes people want to dance and feel the music. 20:30 - Malakka Malakka hardbase plays electronic Balkan ruckus; dance Unza-Unza with robots as the Electro Junta short-circuits! 21:30 - Somberville Somberville plays improvised live techno with a modular system as their extended arm.
