Description:
From its inception, Carpusa Tango has dedicated itself to reviving the Golden Age of Tango with a unique style that embodies the essence of Latin American music. The term "carpusa" in Buenos Aires slang signifies "experience," reflecting a deep-rooted connection to traditions dating back over a century to the origins of tango. Through intimate and passionate performances, Carpusa Tango breathes life into enchanting melodies, showcasing why tango enjoys global renown. Carpusa Tango consists of Marysol de Pablo (vocals) and Julieta Brizzi (guitar), both seasoned musicians with diverse backgrounds spanning various musical genres. Marysol's journey in vocal training and performance includes jazz, rock, funk, and tango, alongside solo endeavors and educational roles. Julieta, skilled in guitar, bass, vocals, and poetry, has translated her works internationally, performed across continents, and published poetry inspired by Scandinavia. Since their establishment in 2013, they have performed at esteemed venues worldwide, earning recognition such as the Orpheo Music Award 2022 and the 2020 "Quedate en casa" International Award for their contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic. They are currently working on a new project that recreates the Latin American songbook and blends original works with a new sound in tango. For this new project, Swedish musician Mikael Augustsson will join, a bandoneon virtuoso who merges tango roots with diverse influences, showcasing mastery and innovation on global stages.
