About Kulturnatten
What is Kulturnatten Uppsala?
Uppsala's largest cultural manifestation, Kulturnatten, is an annual event organized by Uppsala's cultural workers, cultural and community organizations, cultural institutions, businesses, and other passionate individuals. Kulturnatten Uppsala is also Sweden's largest cultural night, attracting around 100,000 visitors during an intense 24-hour period on the second Saturday of September each year.
When and where is Kulturnatten 2026 held?
On Saturday, September 12th, Kulturnatten will take place at hundreds of locations in and around Uppsala. Events will take place from early morning until after midnight on streets, squares, and in indoor venues.
Where can I find food and drink during the event?
In addition to Uppsala's fantastic restaurant and café offerings, you'll find several vendors of food, drinks, and sweets on the streets and squares in the central parts of the city.
What happens if it rains?
Some parts of the program may be affected by severe weather. We recommend that all visitors dress according to the weather and stay updated through our channels and website, where information is provided in the event of weather impact.

Are there free activities during Kulturnatten?
Around half of the activities during Kulturnatten are completely free, many of which are aimed at families with children. You can easily find these by selecting "only free" in the search function on the program page.
Are there family-friendly activities during Kulturnatten?
Yes! Programs for families and children run throughout the day and well into the evening.
Travels
How do I get around during Kulturnatten?
In central Uppsala, it's best to get around on foot or with the help of any mobility aids. Bicycles must be walked within the cordoned-off area, and parking for them is limited.
How do I travel to Uppsala and Culture Night?
You can travel to Uppsala in several ways.
From Stockholm, you can take the commuter train with UL/SL. Remember that you need a ticket valid in both Stockholm and Uppsala.
To Uppsala Central Station, you can travel with either Mälartåg or SJ from cities such as Stockholm, Gävle, Tierp, Sala, Västerås and more.
For travel within Uppland and in Uppsala, you can find bus routes at UL.se.
