About Kulturnatten
What is Kulturnatten Uppsala?
Uppsala's largest cultural manifestation, Kulturnatten, is an annual event organized by Uppsala's cultural workers, cultural and community organizations, cultural institutions, businesses, and other passionate individuals. Kulturnatten Uppsala is also Sweden's largest cultural night, attracting around 100,000 visitors during an intense 24-hour period on the second Saturday of September each year.
When and where is Kulturnatten 2025 held?
On Saturday, September 13th, Kulturnatten will take place at a total of 223 locations around Uppsala. Nearly 450 programs and 650 events will take place from early morning until after midnight on streets, squares, and in indoor venues.
Where can I find food and drink during the event?
In addition to Uppsala's fantastic restaurant and café offerings, you'll find several vendors of food, drinks, and sweets on the streets and squares in the central parts of the city.
What happens if it rains?
Some parts of the program may be affected by severe weather. We recommend that all visitors dress according to the weather and stay updated through our channels and website, where information is provided in the event of weather impact.

How can I get the program for Kulturnatten?
You can find the program under the Program" tab on the Kulturnatten website, and it will be published starting August. The program is constantly updated with changes, and the best way to get current information about the various events. On the website, you can also create your own program with just your favorites and print or save it.
There is no printed program for Kulturnatten, but if you’d like extra help with the schedule you can visit our information point at Stora Torget in Uppsala. Here you can ask questions about the program, get tips, and even create a personalized schedule that we’ll print for you – free of charge. See opening hours for the information point here.
Are there free activities during Kulturnatten?
Around half of the activities during Kulturnatten are completely free, many of which are aimed at families with children. You can easily find these by selecting "only free" in the search function on the program page.
Are there family-friendly activities during Kulturnatten?
Yes! Programs for families and children run throughout the day and well into the evening. You can find these under the Program tab and then select "for children."
There is an entire area dedicated to cultural events for kids and young adults in Stadsträdgården (The City Garden) - visit the Program for more information.
Travels
How do I get around during Kulturnatten?
In central Uppsala, it's best to get around on foot or with the help of any mobility aids. Bicycles must be walked within the cordoned-off area, and parking for them is limited.
How do I travel to Uppsala and Culture Night?
You can travel to Uppsala in several ways.
From Stockholm, you can take the commuter train with UL/SL. Remember that you need a ticket valid in both Stockholm and Uppsala.
To Uppsala Central Station, you can travel with either Mälartåg or SJ from cities such as Stockholm, Gävle, Tierp, Sala, Västerås and more.
For travel within Uppland and in Uppsala, you can find bus routes at UL.se.
Accessibility
How accessible are the events for people with disabilities?
There are accessible toilets on Östra Ågatan and S:t Eriks torg. Accessible parking is available at Orphei Drängars place. For accessibility at each program, we refer to the program page where such information is available.
Is sign language interpretation or audio description available during Kulturnatten?
Some programs have sign language interpretation and/or audio description available. Search for these in the search function on the program page.
Where can I find information about accessible parking near the events?
Accessible parking is available at Orphei Drängars place. We do not recommend visitors to drive to Kulturnatten, as parking spaces are limited in Uppsala city during the event.
